We are currently seeking to recruit an Administrative Assistant (Grade 1) within the Public Defence Solicitors’ Office in Ayr.

Starting salary is £20,570, within a pay band up to £21,930 (pro rata if part time).

The Public Defence Solicitors’ Office (PDSO) was established in 1998 and is a national network of publicly employed solicitors operating from eight offices across Scotland providing criminal legal assistance. Operating as a direct service of SLAB, we advise and represent clients, who are eligible for criminal legal aid, in relation to summary and solemn cases at every level and in Scotland’s busiest courts all over the country. About the role
To undertake office administrative duties and assist the Network and Systems Coordinator to provide an efficient service to the PDSO Network. Main Duties and responsibilities include:
• Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail
• Using the Case Management System to create and maintain electronic files
• Maintain paper files and the filing system
• Processing various case documents including downloading, photocopying and scanning
• Other general office and administrative tasks within the PDSO network.
• Assist the Network and Systems Coordinator, as directed, by providing network support assistance for other offices.

This post is permanent on a full time basis.
