The Scottish Legal Aid Board (SLAB) is the national funding body for most solicitor and advocate delivered publicly funded legal services.

About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Compliance Auditor (Grade 5) within the Compliance and Investigations Department of our Operations Directorate.
The Compliance Auditors ensure on-going and consistent adherence of criminal and (to some extent) children’s legal aid by solicitors electing to participate in the provision of publically funded legal assistance through SLAB’s Codes of Practice, legislation, regulation and guidance by onsite and/or remote audits.
Candidates Profile
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills, preferably within a related discipline
• A full, clean, current UK driving licence
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A high level of integrity
• Computer literacy, particularly MS Excel and Word
• Confidence to be able to personally deal with difficult, serious and contentious issues on a face to face basis as and when required
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight timescales
• A methodical and analytical approach to work
• Good attention to detail
